i have no node labeled display drivers... Anyway, if an old game causes any problem, start it in compatibility mode, using windows 95, 256 colours and 1024 by 768 or lower resolution, in protected mode.In my case, the I have found there are activities you do that changes your display settings. Please help.
It should say graphics controller. PCR]This will remove the current adapter and replace it with a generic VGAadapter that works with all video cards. Is there anything i can do about this? Windows 98 Safe Mode Ive even managed to get the drivers to change it (from Dell) but cant work out how to install them with no mention of the monitor in the device manager!
It comes up just the way I left it. Examine the two panes to see what is currently installed. It then gives anerror> alert box saying there is an error with display adapter settings. get redirected here I choose normal boot mode and Windows boots up with> the display settings at 16 colors, 640x480 resolution. I got it sorted myself after a bit of messing with it. They told me it has to do with my outlet and that there is nothing they can do. Use "StartupCop" or "EndItAll2" fromPCMag (below). Here I reset my displaysettings| back to normal (16bit true-color, 1024x768) and it asks to me restartthe| computer no matter what my advanced setting for changing displaysettings| are. So what to do in that case? 99% of these problems are simply not having the correct video drivers installed for your machine. I had this problem and this is how I solved it. That's either a limit of the video hardware in that machine, or as the article states you need the proper drivers for it.
You are my last resort for help!!! Also the Hardware wizard keep appearing pertaining to the video adapter, please help? I have tried clean autoexec.bat, config.sys, win.ini, and system.ini files to no avail. my review here Both could be the reason.
does your graphics card support 1024 by 768 pixels.Never try to set it higher than this,or you will get the display "Video mode is not supported"and you will have to restart Im stuck with that awful 640x480 rubbish too. I choose normal boot mode and Windows boots upwith| the display settings at 16 colors, 640x480 resolution. And there's the rub - if you have the wrong drivers, or the default drivers, installed, the slider under Screen Resolution may not give you any option other than 640x480.

There was a little YELLOW question mark that said "other devices" I opened that up and there was a something that said video drivers I think. could it be my graphics card thats cooked??? Running WindowsXP. If not, get a better vid card is all you can do. It was stuck on the 640x480. I've repaired Windows XP and was finally able to change the display mode from 640x480 (8 bit) but can't boot with out going into safe mode.
