user stuck on a temporary user profile. check c:\users\ for a temp folder not in users name. Backup user profile w Windows 7 easy transfer. red x's don't always mean your not connected, they can mean your not authenticated. Tried clicking thru anyways. At my place, half the mapped drives always show red x's but they and I haven't heard back from him so ... Then it only takes right click and Disconnect.
