Seriously.  When the power is off, the Dell MediaDirect button acts a toggle button to boot the other partition.  Try to find that on Dell's site, and well, I couldn't find I have a functioning laptop again and am able to access what I need for an upcoming trip away. Life has been hectic here. I really just can't thank you enough! While the book is from 1997, there is still plenty of good ideas about how to prevent or alleviate headaches without medicine. Also, i have searched the internet and didn't found the resolution to my problem.
