During the installation >win2000 ask only one time for the floppy disk. However, I've done so many re-installs now that the log that had the most errors in it has been overwritten. Some might like it because it is not subject to Microsoft's Authentication program . . . It says something like "unknown or corrupted" or some such. check my blog

Win98 installed and runs just fine. scrambled way more often, my experience has been. I then set about properly configuring my system. After the first reboot, Windows 2000 goes to the "Installing Devices" screen where it says "Setup is detecting and installing devices on your computer".
