Most people choose to just let programs run when downloading and think it will not be stored on their HD that way. Heh. I have just sent this complaint to a Windows Community site. Your idea of capacity was flawed to begin with, as Unclejunebug explained.

Please help! The partition can be anywhere from about 5-10GiB, but it can vary. Not a lot but I was almost at the point that I'd have to buy a new computer or new HD, or a full reinstall or .... I was trying to clean up my laptop because it was running slow and ran out of things to delete...like it listerally had nthing on it except antivirus itunes and a Every so often I get a message that says "You have 0 MB free on drive C:" and then it asks me to run a disk clean up. When I click on “Properties” of my Vista C hard drive it says the capacity is 226 GB and 200 GB is currently used with 25.5 GB space free which doesn’t The current fashion is to bash on Vista, which people also did when XP came out (but the Internet was not as prevalent then, so the echo chamber didn't reach such If it is it doesn't show a "tools" button to click on, it opens up a window with all of my files.

i just bought a SSD 32gb drive to install vista x64 on, my windows folder alone is 17GB, with 6gb of ram, the pagefile becomes 6.4Gb. wtf ? Either way, it's hard to tell what you are actually seeing based on your current description of the problem. When I type VSP1CLN the command is not recognized...maybe because I already have SP2? It seems as if almost anything you buy has more space than one could ever use up in a lifetime.

It appears that the only solution is a terabyte hard drive, with around a third of it allocated to windows. So the whole population is going to be walking around, squinting at tiny little devices, pushing tiny little buttons with their thumbnails. Tech Support Guy is completely free -- paid for by advertisers and donations. Now that Vista SP1 is out, there is a tool which will remove all of the RTM versions of updated components.

I'm sort of thinking that the stolen hard drive space could be some sort of "glitch" or other type of problem. That's why I prefer a Linux operating system.
