They're out now and at a great price from what you say (and might even be cheaper than the XT when it arrives), and it looks like your system is ready
At 'retail' price points, it looks like both are the XT and GTX are short stock. Are you sure @_MarkBlunden? Other than that though, it's just applying normal MSAA on polygon edges and basically the equivelant of SSAA on alpha textures isn't it? However, we will talk about relative performance after detailing the setup and some new findings.
There are NO X1800XT Master Cards on the market ANYWHERE. Must be a mess up. Edit: Okay, the final proof he's playing us is his reported overclock on the GTX's in SLI. 700+ core speed???? http://www.xbitlabs.com/articles/video/display/asus-7800gt_6.html We’ve updated our terms.
Anywhoo if you have the money buy two 7800s. Did ATI hold back the x1800xt until they had enough chips that would ramp fast enough to beat it? Issue though is what MoBo that supports ATI Crossfire and is stable and good at OC'ing, etc.Click to expand... He's playing us terribly and I won't defend his knowledge level anymore. RyanSmithAT: @gameremixx Huh, strange. Reply Clauzii - Thursday, November 17, 2005 - link Man - it´s amazing to see how many can get over xited of a preview ..
ATI X1800XT Crossfire won every benchmark over nVidia 7800GTX SLI in these tests. I don't play many OpenGL games, mostly Source games, FarCry, BF2, FEAR, UT2004, etc. Don't have time to test out any games, gotta be at college soon, but i've got 3Dmark 05 and 03 downloading now. ahh i dont know what to do what about running sli 2 7800GTXs?!Click to expand...
I wish I could pony up the dough for another 7800GTX but unfortunately my wife would kill me. #17 Elfear, Oct 22, 2005 tekkitan Junior Member Joined: Oct 22, 2005 I believe Hilberts results over anybody... I have 2 6800GTs.
Not bad considering ATI's top offering is 600+ ?Click to expand... If you're up to it I suppose you could do better than the reviews, but I wouldn't be too confident about that. The price of 2 7800gt's would run at least $600 with shipping included just like the x1800xt. If you turn it off ingame, the game is unplayable - you have multiple images - kind of like a T-buffer nightmare.......
Unless celebrating St Patricia's Day. thats gotta be a joke in allot of games crossfire is slower then a single card. In fact, AnandTech is, as far as I've seen, the only one who has the problem in B&W2. All rights reserved.
