That should empty the NPROTECT folder. Every time i right click on my recycle bin to "purge my files" my explorer crashes! I will take your advice and hopefully this will fix my problem. BUT WORSE. You can use Windows Explorer to browse the the NPROTECT folder to make sure it emptied if you set the Folder Options>View to show Hidden Files and Folders and also System is it dangerous?.. Very important step. great post to read
Just to let you know I don't have Norton SystemWorks anymore I have Norton 360. If you do not want to use this folder then disable System Restore. Unfortunately, Norton does not have such a thing with any of their software any more. I just upgraded my system from 512 to 2 gig ,but because these files are there it seems to have help but there is still less space on my hard drive. Is it so? Replies are locked for this thread.

What am I purging, and is it safe to do so? If it were your job you could get fired for this one. Ask a question and give support. When NProtect was first released, hiding its contents helped ensure that a user would not accidentally delete the files in the directory.
