DVD-R, DVD-RW, DVD+R, and DVD+RW are four common burned DVDs. You need to install dvd writer software like IMGBurner. Of course it may look fine and still be bad. I am using Shrink on Vista.

I have used drives that will recognize a DVD+R disc but refuse to read DVD-R disc. The entire "120min" thing is stupid. avi,mpegs any format into a video format thats playable on dvds players I have used both dvd+r and dvd-r have both wrked for me so hope this helps. If they work there, then you should be able to copy them and then they would play in your regular dvd players.

Your old DVD recorder may have used a old or proprietary CODEC which newer players don't support.
